Now that the hype for big smartphone manufacturers such as Apple, Samsung and Google is pretty much over, it’s time for the smaller ones to take center stage, and by that we mean HTC. The Taiwanese consumer electronics company is reportedly about to unveil a new phablet device that would give other companies a run for their money – the HTC U11 Plus.

Based on the name itself, it’s safe to say that the new HTC smartphone will be the larger version of HTC U11, and is expected to join the bandwagon of a taller 18:9 aspect ratio that most companies are adapting to their devices.

With that being said, here are the rumored design, specs, and Release Date of the latest HTC U11 Plus, according to Android Authority.

The design

The Taiwanese tech giant has not released any official images of their latest device as of this time. However, this didn’t stop OnLeaks and Coupraja from visualizing the device’s design on their own and making renders of what it might look like.

Based on their renders of the device, the HTC U11 Plus will probably have smaller bezels, which is becoming the norm for smartphones in 2017. HTC might also keep the liquid glass design that made the HTC U11 standout among the rest.

Check out the renders below.

The specs

As we mentioned earlier, the new device might have an 18:9 aspect ratio display with a 5.99-inch screen.

Under the hood, the phablet may have the same specs as its little brother.

According to Android Authority, the next flagship smartphone will rock the latest Snapdragon 835 by Qualcomm, paired with 4GB or 6GB of RAM. It’s also speculated that the device will not feature a dual camera setup, unlike other smartphones. Instead, it will sport a 12MP primary camera and an 8MP selfie at the front.

The smartphone is expected to run the latest Android 8.0 update, Oreo, which includes a new feature called Edge Sense. In addition, the U11 Plus could be powered by a 4,000mAh battery and feature water resistance with an IP68 rating.

The release date

Initially, it was to be believed that the phablet will be unveiled at HTC’s upcoming event on November 2.

However, Evan Blass, a well-known smartphone leaker, said that people should not expect the phablet to be unveiled at the event. Instead, the Taiwanese company will unveil the HTC U11 Life, which is a mid-range smartphone.

The latest phablet device might be unveiled to the public before the year ends, according to Android Authority.
