Oneplus usually launches two smartphones each year. They started this tradition in 2016 with the introduction of OnePlus 3 and its counterpart, OnePlus 3T. The Chinese giant will probably end up repeating the same. According to a report by Tech Radar, alleged images on an unidentified OnePlus smartphone have even begun emerging online. The device – which features a bezel-less front panel – is believed to be none other than OnePlus 5T. The report goes on to state that the new device might be launched next month. It is highly unlikely that OnePlus will delay the introduction of OnePlus 5T until next year as they have OnePlus 6 in the offing.

The smartphone will be made available at the same price as OnePlus 5, $479.

Release date and price

The firm unveiled two smartphones last year. They introduced one in June 2016 (OnePlus 3) and the other one in November 2016 (OnePlus 3T). The fans thus identified the handset as being a follow-up. Interestingly, with the launch of OnePlus 3T, they bumped off OnePlus 3 from the company’s official website. The same is expected to take place this year. OnePlus 5 is no longer available for purchase on the company’s official website. As noted by GizmoChina, this is perceived as a clear indication that the Chinese giant might fill up the void with a new offering. As for the price, not much is expected to change.

The smartphone will be made available at the same price as its sibling, roughly $479.

Specs and features

According to a report by GizmoChina, which cites its “sources,” as saying that OnePlus 5T will sport a 6-inch display. Furthermore, the handset will pack a resolution of 2,160 x 1,080 pixels and an aspect ratio of 18:9. If this turns out to be true then the smartphone shares a huge similarity with Samsung’s Galaxy S8 and LG’s V30.

The leaked renders provided by Tech Radar reveal the device as carrying thin bezels on the front panel. As for the camera, the smartphone may pack a dual rear setup with two 16-megapixel sensors. Along with this will be an 8-megapixel front shooter. The device will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 system-on-chip with Android Oreo running on top.

Storage wise, the smartphone will end up offering 6GB of RAM along with 64GB of inbuilt memory. The company hasn’t confirmed these rumors as yet. But all the signs point to one direction, the OnePlus 5T launch is imminent. The phone is expected to compete with Galaxy S8 and iPhone 8.
