The newer version was built using a mixture of ceramic and aluminum, whereas the previous model only packed an aluminum body. Mi Mix 2 will compete with Samsung Galaxy S8 and Apple iPhone 8.

According to Forbes, the newly launched Mix 2 was designed with US customers in mind. Xiaomi Mix 2 is receiving positive reviews regarding its design, specs, and features.

It will compete with Samsung Galaxy S8 and Apple's iPhone X especially in the U.S market.

Mix 2 is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 system-on-chip, clocked at 2.45GHz.

This is the most obvious difference between both the handset. Snapdragon 821 processor powered last year's smartphone. Storage wise, Xiaomi has upgraded its smartphone. Smartphones feature 6GB of RAM, as opposed to last year’s 4GB RAM option. Xiaomi has introduced a special 8GB RAM version too.

New camera

The company has specifically emphasized upon Mix 2’s camera this time.

Packing its rear panel with a 12-megapixel sensor, it is further accompanied by a dual-tone flash and Sony IMXX 386 technology. The front camera comprises of the 5-megapixel sensor with shutter and facial recognition technology. At the same time, the original handset included a horrendous 16-megapixel sensor on the rear end with a 5-megapixel sensor on the front side.

Last year the smartphone was powered by Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS. The firm has obviously upgraded its successor to Android Nougat 7.1.1. with MIUI 9 on top. The handset last year housed a 4,400mAh battery, which has now been downgraded to 3,400mAh battery. Both the handsets equipped Quick Charge 3.0 technology.
