The record-breaking microSD model is the successor of the company’s 200GB SanDisk Ultra microSDXC card which was launched 2 years ago. According to Sandisk, the company successfully doubled the capacity of their microSD by banking on a patented memory technology along with a design that permitted cramming more bits of data on each die of memory.

The latest SanDisk microSD card breakthrough will allow users to keep up with today’s data storage demands. With a 400GB memory that is compatible with almost all devices, users can now enjoy the features of their gadgets without worrying about storage space.

The power of a 400GB microSD storage and its complementary app

The world’s mobile-eccentric lifestyle will continue to raise the demand for higher storage capacities. Western Digital’s 400GB SanDisk Ultra is capable of storing up to 40 hours of movies and videos in HD quality. The massive storage also boasts of a remarkable transfer speed of up to 100MB/s.

With a premium performance speed rating, the device is capable of supporting the transfer of up to 1,200 photos in just under a minute. Meeting the specifications of the A1 App Performance Class, the 400GB SanDisk Ultra also capable of loading apps faster.

Western Digital also introduces an upgrade to its SanDisk Memory Zone app to allow its users to have a better control over their storage devices.

The upgraded app is compatible with Android devices and is available for download on Google Play for free.

According to Tech Republic, the new SanDisk Ultra Plus microSDXC UHS-I will also be released in 16, 32, 64, 128, 200, and 256GB variants to cater to users with less storage demand. The product comes with a ten-year limited warranty. It can be purchased from SanDisk. It will also be available in other major retailers and comes with a $249.99 price tag.
