Samsung unveiled its Galaxy Note 8 phablet at its “Unpacked” event on 23 August in New York. The device was made available for pre-orders almost the very next week. The company experienced a surge in terms of the number of people who signed up to purchase the smartphone. The shipping date wasn’t revealed by the company back then. There’s some good news for those waiting to get their hands on Galaxy Note 8. The flagship is now available for purchase on websites of major US carriers. The list includes Amazon, Verizon, AT&T and US Cellular among others.

Users can also purchase the smartphone from one of their local carriers. The phone has made a record booking of around 6,50,000 units.

Tho color options with the phone

According to a report by Android Headlines, Samsung has introduced four primary colors with its Galaxy Note 8. But only two black and orchid gray color variants have been introduced in the US market. There are chances that the company might bring the other colors later in the market. Samsung has also launched a new scheme for those who purchase the Note 8 smartphone before September 24, will be eligible for free gifts. They can get their hands on Samsung’s Gear 360 camera or a 128GB microSD card for free.

Specifications of the phablet

Samsung Galaxy Note 8 features a 6.3-inch Super AMOLED display with 2,960 x 1,440 pixels resolution. The device packs a bezel-less design, similar to its sibling Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus. The smartphone is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 835 chipset. The device offers 6GB of RAM along with 64GB of inbuilt memory.

Users can expand the memory up to 256GB using its microSD card slot option. Owners can also make use of a 400GB micro SD card by SanDisk. The smartphone is home to a 3,300mAh battery that is non-removable by nature.

The handset is packed with a dual rear camera setup with two 12-megapixel sensors (one wide angle, one telephoto lens).

There’s also a decent front camera for selfie-lovers. The smartphone is accompanied with the Samsung’s iconic S Pen. Samsung has also integrated the Bixby digital voice assistant with the device. Additional features of the smartphone include Live Messages, Bixby Vision, and others. The device runs on Android 7.1.1 Nougat OS. Samsung is expected to release the latest Android Oreo update soon. The company, however, hasn’t made any mention of its exact date as of yet. The starting price of Galaxy Note 8 is $900.
