Apple fans can recall that the first iPhone was released a decade ago and was showcased by Steve Jobs. This year marks the smartphone’s 10th anniversary and consumers expect something big from the Cupertino-based company. In preparation for the launch of their next models, Apple has apparently booked a venue that honors its late co-founder. It has been confirmed that the invitations, which were sent out to several members of the press, set the location at the Apple Park campus. Furthermore, the exact venue indicated is apparently the Steve Jobs Theater.

Additionally, the invites sent out reportedly carried the tagline “Let’s meet at our place”, which clearly indicates their Cupertino location.

New iPhone to be unveiled at Steve Jobs Theater?

According to a report from CNET, for the first time, Apple will launch its iPhone at the Steve Jobs Theater. The venue has a capacity of 1,000 people and its construction is expected to impress a lot of attendees as well. Others believe that the new location is appropriate given that the upcoming iPhone 8 will presumably be a brand new design. Consumers have noted that the past few models were not really groundbreaking when it comes to their appearance. The company has continuously followed the same construction principle with the large top and bottom bezels and a home button up front.

Leaked mock-ups of the new flagship device flaunt a bold new design that will make it stand out from the competition.

Floor plans reveal more

Reports claim that the Steve Jobs Theater was designed just like Apple’s Fifth Avenue Apple Store in New York. The entrance showcases a glass-covered round structure that welcomes guests and leads to an exhibit area underground.

A set of curved stairs apparently lead the way and the auditorium is located even further down the area. Organizers are probably prepared to experience the rush as people will undoubtedly fight for the best seats in the auditorium. Just like past launch events from the company, maximum seating capacity will be reached very quickly on the scheduled date.

More than just iPhones

Apple’s launch event is scheduled for September 12, 2017, at the Steve Jobs Theater at the Apple Park campus in Cupertino. While the main star of the show will be the next-generation iPhone model, analysts also speculate that other new stuff might also share the limelight. The new Apple Watch model rumored to pack an LTE antenna, AR Kit for augmented reality applications, iOS 11, MacOS High Sierra, and the Siri-powered Homepod are all expected to make an appearance.
