Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy Note 8 is one the highly anticipated devices this year. However, new image renders of the mobile device have surfaced on the internet. The newly leaked photos seem to confirm the smartphone’s two color options, rear-mounted fingerprint sensor and a dual camera setup.

Smartphone’s new renders

The smartphone’s new leaked images were shared by the famous tech leaker Evan Blass on Twitter. Blass hit on his Twitter account and posted a render of the smartphone in midnight black. Then, the leaker followed up his post with the inclusion of Galaxy Note 8’s gold color variant.

According to Business Insider, the leaked image showcased the S-Pen feature of the mobile device. However, the photos posted by Blass are actually press renders of the Galaxy Note 8, which means this is very likely what the mobile device will look like when Samsung officially announce it. As far as design goes, the new device will resemble the S8 and S8 Plus’ Infinity Display as well as slim top and bottom bezels.

Meanwhile, IB Times reported that Bixby’s dedicated button is located on the left edge of the mobile device, while the power button is on the right side. Just like the recently released Galaxy devices, the upcoming device’s fingerprint sensor is mounted on the back alongside the LED flash.

Nonetheless, the S8 sibling’s rear-mounted fingerprint sensor was received negatively by smartphone enthusiasts. The location of the feature seems to be inconvenient as it is difficult to reach.

Also, the back of the smartphone features the dual camera setup. Samsung’s latest flagship mobile device is anticipated to be equipped with a combination of a 12MP wide-angle lens and a 13MP telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom.

The handset is expected to come along with an improved iris scanner, 3.5mm headphone jack, IP68 certification, fast charging and wireless charging support. The smartphone is expected to be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 835 system on chip (SoC), paired with a 6GB RAM and a 64GB of internal storage, expandable through a microSD.

The mobile device will run on Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box.

Release date of the device

In terms of the release date, the South Korean tech company is expected to announce the Galaxy Note 8 at an event in New York on August 23. The tech giant will likely start shipping the smartphone in September. Samsung’s new smartphone will go head-to-head with Apple’s iPhone 8.
