Famous tech leaker, Steve Hemmerstoffer or known as @OnLeaks, tweeted that the mass production of Apple’s iPhone 8 has kicked off. This could mean that the iPhone launch delay is debunked. However, the smartphone could be available in a limited number of units.

According to Value Walk, Hemmerstoffer hit on his Twitter account to announce that iPhone 8’s mass production is slated in August and will be launched in September. Nonetheless, Hemmerstoffer’s tweet is still unofficial until the Cupertino based tech titan makes it official.

GSM Arena reported that some of the components of the mobile device have been leaked, such as the redesigned status bar, tap-to-wake option, and home indicator.

However, there are a lot of things to be expected from the highly anticipated iPhone 8.

First up is the wireless charging, a technology that is the wild card in the upcoming handset. But, the wireless charging technology is not cable-free, and still, requires a pad to be plugged into a power source. Second is the smartphone’s camera app, which is likely to be improved by a new feature. The feature is dubbed as the SmartCam.

Third would be the iPhone 8’s Augmented Reality app. With the flagship smartphone running on the latest iOS 11, the device will introduce the AR technology. Apple CEO Tim Cook made it known that the Augmented Reality applications are designed to make the mobile device essential for certain tasks, such as a 3D rendition of the human body.

Touch ID feature

The fourth thing to expect from the iPhone 8 is the Touch ID, which allows users to access selected services, such as Apple Wallet as well as Apple Pay. Nonetheless, the tech company might integrate the Touch ID with some additional services and hardware improvements.

Apple’s 10th-year anniversary iPhone is also expected to arrive with an IP68 certification, which is an upgrade from the IP67 of the iPhone 7.

The feature would provide the handset with complete protection for up to 30 minutes when submerged to 1.5 meters of water.

Aside from that, the mobile device is also expected to be available with 5.8-inch 2.5D OLED edge-to-edge display, improved Siri, P2P payments, face-scanning technology, vertical dual cameras on rear and support for LTE speeds up to 450Mbps.

Smartphone’s design

Furthermore, as reported by Independent, the tech company was heading for a major redesign with the upcoming smartphone. Apple enthusiasts anticipated that the device would have a screen that stretched over the handset’s entire front, which will get rid of the bezel at the sides, top and bottom.
