Leaks of Apple’s upcoming iPhone 8 Android smartphone are coming continuously from the tech giant’s HomePod firmware. The Cupertino based tech company had rolled out the firmware of the Siri powered speaker, and that provides some anticipations about its highly anticipated smartphone. Nonetheless, a Portuguese media outlet has discovered a code which apparently indicates that the rear and front cameras of Apple’s 10th anniversary iPhone will be capable of 4K video at 60FPS.

iHelp BR reported that the code indicated a high-resolution recording capability for iPhone 8’s cameras, which include support for 4K video.

According to The Apple Post, the code in the firmware showed off a handset with 4K video support at 60 frames per second (FPS). There’s also an indicator for the back and front, which suggests that both cameras of the upcoming iPhone 8 will come along with a higher quality video support.

However, iPhone 7 and the iPhone 7 Plus’ rear camera is available with a 4K video recording at 30FPS, while the front camera of the mobile devices is limited to 1080p. But, Mac Rumors reported that these camera specs are not expected to be available in the forthcoming smartphone. In spite of that, the improved frame rate might be utilized for iOS 11 operating system’s AR apps.

Smartphone with Face ID feature

Meanwhile, Express reported that the famous iOS app developer, Steve Troughton-Smith, discovered the reference to Face ID within the code’s reams.

The feature could allow iPhone 8 users to unlock the smartphone with a glance. Troughton-Smith claimed that the code refers to something new, dubbed as the BiometricKit. But, Apple has yet to confirm if a Face ID will replace the Touch ID.

Aside from the new biometric feature, the iOS app developer also discovered an icon that seems to confirm the design of Apple’s 10th anniversary iPhone.

The small icon bears a resemblance to the simple line drawings the tech company uses to represent hardware within the macOS Finder windows’ sidebar. The icon appears to confirm iPhone 8’s bezel-less design.

Specs of the handset

Nevertheless, the iPhone 8 is expected to arrive with a 5.8-inch 2.5D OLED edge-to-edge display. An Apple A11 chip will power the device. The smartphone will also be available with iOS 11 with improved Siri, P2P payments and support for LTE speed up to 450Mbps. Apple will likely announce the handset in September 2017.
