Over the last few months, Google was having a serious problem with Pixel smartphone’s shortage. However, not only is the mobile device of the search engine giant in stock, the smartphone is even on sale. The deal is part of the tech company’s event, dubbed as the Google Store's Back to School, and it's one of the first major deals in the first-gen Pixel devices.

As reported by CNET, the smaller variant, Google Pixel, now has a $524 price tag and up for sale, while the Google Pixel XL, with a 5.5-inch screen, is up for grabs for $569. These prices stand for price cuts of $125 and $200, respectively.

The first-gen Pixel smartphones’ deal also comes along with a free Daydream View virtual reality (VR) headset worth $60. The discounts appear to come ahead of Google Pixel 2’s launch, which is expected sometime in October.

However, with one of the best cameras equipped in the Google Pixel line, it is still a great mobile device to date. Aside from that, The Verge reported that the device would be upgraded to Google's Android O operating system sooner than any other smartphone on the market.

On the other hand, while the search engine giant is expected to announce its next-gen Pixel smartphones later this year, it seems like tech enthusiasts will now have their first look at the smaller model. Pixel 2’s leaked images appear to confirm the large bezels on the smartphone.

GSM Arena was the first one to share the live photos of the upcoming smartphone. The images showed off the front and back of the mobile device, and it seems to suggest that the Google Pixel 2 will be very similar to its predecessor.

The newly leaked photos also match the images that the popular tech leaker, Evan Blass, posted last week.

The tipster also claimed that Google’s Pixel 2 and Pixel XL 2 smartphones would be available without the 3.5mm headphone jack.

Specs of the smartphones

The smaller variant is expected to sport a 4.97-inch FHD display, while the larger model will feature a 5.99-inch display. The smartphones are expected to be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 836 system on chip (SoC), but the Pixel 2 will have a 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage, while the Google Pixel 2 XL will boast a 6GB of RAM and 128GB of built-in storage.

Camera features of the devices

The next-gen Pixel devices are anticipated to arrive with Android O operating system and IP68 certification for dust and water resistance. On the camera front, the smaller variant will have a 12MP rear camera and 7MP front snapper, while the larger model will boast a 12.3MP and 8MP combo.
