Jackie Chan is among the most celebrated actors in China’s history. Keeping that in mind, Chinese tech giant Xiaomi made an announcement recently stating that they plan on introducing a Special Edition of its flagship smartphone with the actor’s autograph imprinted on it. The special edition Xiaomi smartphone is called ‘Jackie Chan Limited Edition’ and is scheduled to launch on the 40th-anniversary occasion of Jackie Chan’s stunt team. the actor's team reunited for the first time after over a decade back in February. The upcoming special edition smartphone is the Chinese tech giant's sweet gesture to pay tribute to the celebrated actor.
Smartphone made its debut on Weibo
As reported by Gizmo China, the alleged special edition device apparently appeared on China-based social media platform, Weibo. The post suggested that the actor has apparently partnered with Xiaomi to launch a special version of the Xiaomi Mi 6 smartphone. The device will consist of the same features as its standard model but will also sport Jackie's special signature. The post also consisted of images taken at the event wherein actor was reunited with his team members after almost 40 years. The device’s box also apparently comes with the picture of the superstar's team members. At the event, Xiaomi Mi 6 ‘Jackie Chan’ edition smartphone was used to take pictures of them together.
However, the users did not get any look into what lies inside the box. Therefore, it remains to be a mystery that will only unravel when the smartphone is officially launched.
The smartphone is dedicated to the actor
What is known until now is that the Xiaomi Mi 6 ‘Jackie Chan’ edition will consist of the actor’s autograph on the rear panel of the device.
Furthermore, the smartphone will feature a full-fledged dedicated Jackie Chan theme. As far as the software of the smartphone is concerned, the smartphone’s UI is expected to build around the actor’s image. A similar deed was carried out by Sony, with the launch of its Xperia A that revolved around Hatsune Miku.
The said limited edition smartphone is available at the starting price of 3,199 yuan.
Like mentioned previously, the smartphone will pack similar features as the standard model i.e. the device will sport a 5.1-inch display with 1080 pixel resolution and will be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 835 SoC. Moreover, the smartphone will feature a 12MP rear camera sensor along with an 8MP front snapper. Furthermore, the device is expected to offer 6GB of RAM along with 128GB of internal storage.
