Xiaomi has long been teasing its upcoming mid-range smartphone, Mi 5X in the recent past. Now, it appears that The Chinese technology giant has finally taken the wraps off its Mi 5X smartphone. The firm took to its official Twitter platform to make the announcement. The device is powered by Android, and is expected to deliver tough competition to the already-prevailing mid-budget smartphones in the market.The smartphone has only been launched in Xiaomi’s home-market as of now. It is interesting to note that the launch of the smartphone pretty much confirmed all the prevailing leaks that emerged online in the past.

Xiaomi’s latest Mi 5X smartphone comes packed with a 5.5-inch display with 1,920 x 1,080 pixels resolution. The smartphone further goes on to be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 625 SoC. Qualcomm is known to supply its Snapdragon 625 processor primarily to its mid-range smartphones which include devices like Moto Z Play, Huawei’s Maimang 5 and the ASUS ZenFone 3 line-up of smartphones. On the storage front, the upcoming device comes packed with 4GB of RAM along with 64GB of internal storage. Users even have the option of expanding the memory up to 256GB via the microSD card-slot option if they’d like.

Apart from this, the latest Xiaomi smartphone also packs a dual rear camera system with two 12-megapixels sensors.

The dual rear camera system is located horizontally on the rear panel of the smartphone. The rear camera system is also further accompanied with a dual-LED flash as well. Moreover, the device also comes with an 8-megapixels front snapper. The device boosts of a physical home button located on the rear front of the device. As far as the device’s dimensions are concerned, Xiaomi’s Mi 5X features 155.4 x 75.8 x 7.3mm dimensions.

The device weighs approximately 165 grams. Xiaomi has launched its latest mid-range Mi 5X smartphone in three color variants, including black, gold and rose.
