Hmd Global is looking to revitalize the nokia brand, and only new devices can make that happen. Last month, the company launched three interesting devices known as the Nokia 3, Nokia 5, and Nokia 6. These are all mid to low-end products, but what about the flagship device?

It’s here in the form of the Nokia 8

This will be the first high-end smartphone from the new Nokia, which will look to compete with the best of what Android has to offer. Reports claim that the device will go on sale on July 31, 2017 -- however, this is from a leaked report, and nothing has been officially confirmed.

Hardware specification is important for a high-end Android smartphone. According to the alleged leaked report, the Nokia 8 will come with a 5.3 inch Quad HD 2K display, and a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor. Additionally, the device could launch with 4GB of RAM, but rumors suggest that there are variants with 6GB and 8GB of RAM.

However, these products will launch after the base 4GB Ram Model. In terms of storage, the 4GB RAM model could launch with 64GB of internal space, while the 6GB and 8GB RAM options might come with 128GB and 256GB internal storage, respectively. Each product should come with external memory support for those who need more than what the device offers.

What about the camera?

One has to marvel at what the Nokia 8 is bringing to the table with its Carl Zeiss Lens. The device is expected to launch with dual lens 13-megapixel cameras at the back, along with dual LED flash. One of the cameras is designed to take photos, while the other will take wide-angle shots. On the front, there’s also a 13-megapixel camera as well, proving that HMD Global is going all-out with its 2017 flagship product.

As for the software that will power this smartphone, the rumored information claims it’ll launch with Android 7.1.1 Nougat.

Is the device water resistant?

Yes, it is, if the rumors are true. It should come packed with IP68 water resistance and an iris scanner. To make things even better, a USB Type-C port and a fingerprint scanner are part of the package as well.

Now, with the Nokia 8 being such a powerful smartphone, it’s clear the price won’t be affordable for the majority of consumers. Rumors state that the price begins at $677, which is less expensive than the Samsung Galaxy S8 and the latest iPhone.

Still, while these specifications may look enticing, it is important to reiterate that nothing has been confirmed officially at the time of this writing.
