The South-Korean tech giant Samsung is reportedly working on a new tablet. The device in question has already been tested by the firm and was recently spotted online along with the list of specifications that it is expected to arrive with. The upcoming Samsung tablet will fall in the mid-range category and will come equipped with basic user-friendly features, targeted to enhance the over-all tablet-experience.

The rumored device has passed the FFC certification test

The alleged device carried the Model Number, ‘SM-T385’ and has successfully passed the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) certification testing as well.

Several reports speculate that the upcoming Samsung tablet is most probably this year’s Galaxy Tab A 8.0. While Samsung has neither confirmed nor denied these speculations, it seems highly likely that they decided to renew the series, given what a major hit it was last year. Moreover, Samsung is expected to introduce two new versions of the same in the family this year.

While the first one carried the model number, ‘SM-T385,’ the second one has been given the tag, ‘SM-T385.’ It is being assumed that the two tablets will belong to the same family but will come with slight differences. While the former is expected to be a Wi-Fi-only version, the latter is expected to be an LTE-version. As reported by Android Headlines, it is the LTE-version that appeared on the official FCC website.

Unfortunately, the FCC listing hasn’t provided a lot of details regarding them. The alleged device also apparently passed through GFXBench earlier this month. The benchmarking website pretty much revealed most of the major features of the device.

Specs and features

As per the listing on GFX Bench, the Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2017) is going to come equipped with an 8-inch display with 1,280 x 800-pixel resolution.

Apart from this, the tablet is expected to be powered by a quad-core SoC which will be clocked at 1.4GHz. On the storage front, the tablet is expected to offer 2GB of RAM along with 16GB of internal storage. Moreover, an additional expansion option will also be made available. In terms of camera, the upcoming Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2017) is speculated to pack an 8MP rear camera along with a 5MP front snapper as well. While no word regarding the tablet’s battery life has been let out yet, the Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2017) is expected to run on Android 7.0 Nougat out-of-the-box.
