The Samsung Galaxy A7 (2017) has been included in the list of smartphones the South Korean OEM intends to upgrade to Android 7.0 Nougat operating system. Although the Galaxy A7 (2017) will not be the first handset to receive the upgrade, it is expected to receive the long-awaited software roll out in the coming weeks. The news of the device receiving the update was received after the smartphone was spotted at Wi-Fi alliance.

The 2017 Galaxy A7 carrying model number A720F was spotted on the Wi-Fi Alliance.

However, there was a singular disparity between the original model of the handset and the prototype that was spotted on the website. The device listed was seen running on Android 7.0 Nougat, while the original model which was launched in January, ran on Android Marshmallow.

Although the listing does not provide the tech enthusiast and Galaxy A7 owners with an exact date for the rollout of the OS, owners can expect the update to come at any moment. Apart from this handset, another Samsung A series smartphone is also up for the update. The 2017 model of the Galaxy A5 was also spotted on Wi-Fi Alliance running on Android 7.0 Nougat.

What will the update bring for the A7?

Android Nougat comes with multiple local language support along with over 1500 emojis, including 72 new ones.

The brand new emojis were rolled out to promote gender equality all over the world. Apart from this, the operating system also comes with Multi-window view and Quick switch between apps. With these features onboard, the user can run two apps side-by-side and can switch between the two apps with ease by just double tapping the screen.

The Doze on the Go mode in the Android Nougat OS saves the battery of the smartphone even when the user in on the move and comes with Customised Quick Settings, Bundled notifications, and Notification Direct Reply. With the help of the latter, one can directly reply from the notification window without going into the hassles of opening that particular app.
