Finnish technology giant nokia made its plans of foraying into the smartphone market earlier last year. The device manufacturer in collaboration with HMD Global began this year with the revival of the Nokia 3310 feature phone. Following this, the company introduced its mid-range smartphone Nokia 3, 5 and 6 devices — which have already managed to gain enough recognition. The Finnish technology giant is now rumored to be working on two high-end smartphones, Nokia 8 and 9 smartphones. Thanks to leading rumors and speculations, fans have a vague idea of what can be expected from the upcoming Nokia 8 smartphone.

The smartphone-manufacturer is expected to introduce the smartphone device on August 16.

Design of Nokia 8

The upcoming Nokia 8 smartphone is speculated to come featuring slimmer-than-usual bezel-less display. The smartphone is also speculated to come equipped with a home-button that will be embedded under the display itself. Therefore, the smartphone will not be featuring a physical home button. The smartphone is expected to be built using metal. Nokia is further speculated to launch the upcoming Nokia 8 smartphone in four color variants, namely Blue, Steel, Gold/Blue and Gold/Copper as well. The device will also come packed with a 3.5mm audio jack that will be located on the top of the device.

The smartphone will sport the official Nokia branding on both the front and the back side of the device.

Specifications about Nokia 8

According to Gadgets 360 NDTV, who amalgamated a lot of rumors in one place, the smartphone is expected to feature a 5.3-inch QHD display. Furthermore, the upcoming smartphone will be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 835 system-on-chip as well.

On the storage front, the smartphone will offer 4GB of RAM along with 64GB of internal storage. Users will also have the option of expanding the memory if they’d like. In terms of the camera, the smartphone is expected to feature a dual rear camera system with two 13MP rear sensors. The smartphone is also expected to pack a 13MP front camera.

If reports are believed to be true, then the Nokia 8 smartphone is expected to be priced at approximately 589 Euros ($690). The smartphone falls in the high-end category. In other words, the device will fall in direct competition with companies like Samsung, Apple and OnePlus. However, given its price, it seems like the smartphone is slightly inexpensive by nature. As the information hasn’t been attested by the company as yet, it remains to be seen what exactly turns out to be true.
