The Hmd Global-backed Nokia is expected to take the wraps off its high-end flagship smartphone, Nokia 8 soon. Rumors and speculations regarding the upcoming smartphone have been long running and fans have a vague idea of what can be tentatively expected from the upcoming smartphone. At the same time, there hasn’t been any official confirmation regarding the features from the company. Now, a new report claims that the alleged smartphone briefly appeared on HMD Global’s website. However, it was removed from the platform almost immediately, thereby indicating that it might have been an accident.

Device spotted online

As per a post that appeared on Baidu, the upcoming Nokia 8 smartphone was briefly spotted on HMD Global’s Official Website. Thanks to the accidental posting, the fans now have an idea of what exactly is going to come packed in the upcoming Nokia 8 smartphone. The first noticeable feature that could be interpreted from the posting was its design. It appears like the Nokia 8 smartphone will look a lot like the Nokia’s recently-launched, mid-range smartphone, the Nokia 5. Since the leaked photo appeared on HMD Global’s official website, it is safe to assume that this will be the final design of the smartphone. HMD-Global funded Nokia is expected to take the wraps off its smartphone towards the end of July.

Specs and features of the smartphone

Previous leaks have suggested that the Nokia 8 smartphone is going to feature a 5.3-inch Quad-HD display and is going to be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 835 processor. On the storage front, the Nokia 8 smartphone will offer 4GB of RAM along with 64GB of internal storage. The upcoming Nokia flagship smartphone is expected to fall in direct competition with other big brands and their respective flagship smartphones including Samsung’s Galaxy S8, S8 Plus and Note 8 smartphones, Google’s upcoming Pixel 2 smartphones, along with Apple’s heavily-speculated iPhone 8 smartphone.

Meanwhile, Nokia took the market by a storm sometime earlier this year, by announcing its arrival in the smartphone industry. The company not only revived its classic 3310 feature phone but also introduced its 3, 5 and 6 smartphones which fall in the mid-range category. As far as the Nokia 8 smartphone is concerned, the device will be priced at around $600. However, this information has not been confirmed by the company as yet. Therefore, it remains to be seen exactly what eventually arrives.
