Within months of the launch of a wide range of nokia smartphones, the Hmd Global is gearing up to launch the second batch of handsets, which includes the budget-centric Nokia 2. The latest development is that the renders of the phone have surfaced on the web loaded with Android Nougat. Moreover, the handset also appeared on the Geekbench listing exposing the specifications of the upcoming device.

According to the Geekbench listing, the rumored Nokia 2 has been labeled as Unknown Heart with a single-core score of 422. With a multi-core score of 1146, the handset will be loaded with Android 7.1.1 Nougat.

Likely to be powered by a quad-core processor, the upcoming Nokia phone will have Snapdragon 212 processor, 1GB RAM although the benchmarking data specifies 891MB. Meanwhile, Gizmochina reports that the phone could release in two different processor variants such as Snapdragon 212 and MediaTek depending upon the region.

Addition of Android Nougat

According to Baidu, the Nokia 2 could ship with a 5-inch HD display alongside on-screen buttons. The latest render of the phone suggests the launch of a Blue colored variant of the phone paired with the Black front side. The display shows few icons from the Android 7.1.1 Nougat operating platform. When it comes to the rear side, the rumored Nokia gadget will have a camera sensor and LED flash with rounded corners.

Design indicates thick bezels

Recently, a rough sketch of the front side of the forthcoming Nokia 2 was leaked and was seen placed along with the drawing of the Nokia 3. The size and shape of the Nokia 2 were identical to that of the Nokia 3 with few minor variations. The physical navigation buttons are placed on the bottom of the front side of Nokia 3.

However, in Nokia 2 it was pushed upwards with thick bezels. Even though the content displayed on both handsets looks similar, we can see visible modifications to the icons placed on the top of the Nokia 2.

The speaker grills and microphone hole are placed to the extreme right side of the back. On the top, the device will feature a front-facing snapper, earpiece and the traditional Nokia logo aligned to the right side.

The latest renders don’t reveal any connectivity ports and physical home button below the display panel. The possibility of Nokia ditching the headphone port looks slim.

Meanwhile, HMD Global has confirmed the launch of the Nokia 8 flagship smartphone on August 16. With the appearance of the leaked images, the launch of the Nokia 2 is imminent. The appearance of the handset on the benchmarking site is itself a sign of an immediate arrival of the smartphone.
