Japan-based tech company Sharp recently announced the launch of Android One-enabled Sharp X1 smartphone. It appears that the firm is now preparing for the launch of another device. The alleged smartphone dubbed, ‘Sharp FS8016’ is expected to debut sometime towards the end of this year.

Key details revealed

A new report published by Gizmo China suggests that the device was recently spotted online. Along with the posting, key details regarding the smartphone were also revealed. Alleged renders of the upcoming smartphone showcase a dual Rear Camera setup.

The smartphone is expected to be available in more than four color variants. In fact, if reports are believed to be true then the latest Sharp smartphone will probably come in eight color options including White, Black, Red, Light Green, Purple, Pink, Dark Blue, and Light Blue.Besides the dual rear camera setup, one could even spot a LED flash. The smartphone further comes equipped with a USB Type-C port that is located towards the bottom of the device. The smartphone will also be equipped with two separate speakers.

A flagship device

Experts predict that the upcoming Sharp smartphone may be priced at around 3,500 Yuan, approximately $514. Sharp was expected to integrate a fingerprint sensor in its future devices.

Unfortunately, it doesn’t appear like the Sharp X1 is going to come equipped with a fingerprint scanner as nothing of that sort can be spotted in the image. This has led the fans to believe that the fingerprint sensor might be embedded below the physical Home button on the front panel of the upcoming Sharp smartphone. Users can even spot an uncanny resemblance of the alleged Sharp smartphone with leaked renders of the upcoming Apple iPhone 8.

The question whether Sharp is planning on following Apple’s footsteps still remains unanswered.

As for the specifications of the smartphone, the Sharp FS8016 is expected to pack a 5.5-inch display with 2,040 x 1,080-pixel resolution alongside 17:9 aspect ratio. The smartphone will further be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 660 processor.

The device is further speculated to offer 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage as well. The smartphone is expected to run on Android 7.1.1 Nougat out-of-the-box. However, this piece of information has not been confirmed by the company as yet. Therefore, readers are advised to take the information with a grain of salt.
