Asus hasn’t launched a new smartphone in a very long time. The company has consciously made an effort to invest time in its laptops until now. Now, a new report suggests that a new ASUS smartphone was recently spotted online. This is indicative of ASUS’s future plans. It seems like the company is planning on launching an Android-based smartphone soon. The speculated smartphones are expected to arrive in two storage options and a load of other new specifications as well. Moreover, they are being assumed to be additions to the already-existing ZenFone 4 family.
As reported by Android Headlines, a new line-up of ASUS devices recently appeared on the benchmarking website Geekbench with model numbers "X00LD" and "X00LDA." These devices reportedly came along with different specifications. However, they also had quite a few similarities. On the basis of this, it has been assumed that the latest ASUS models will be introduced as new or add to the existing smartphone family of the company. If reports are believed to be true, then ASUS plans on adding these latest models to its ZenFone 4 series family. As for the specifications of the devices, the smartphone with Model Number "X00LD" is expected to come equipped with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 430 SoC, Android Treasure reported.
Top-notch hardware specs
The device will further offer 4GB of Ram and will run on Android 7.1.1 Nougat out-of-the-box. The smartphone with model number "X00LDA" on the other hand, is expected to offer 2GB of RAM and will also be seen running on Android’s 7.0 Nougat OS. While the former will be accompanied with 16GB of internal storage; the latter will be equipped with 64GB of internal storage.
The firm had previously announced that it also plans on introducing a new 3GB RAM/32GB ROM option with its upcoming smartphones. Whether this particular news turns out to be true with the latest models or not is something that time will tell.

Other additional members that ASUS plans on adding to its ZenFone 4 series are ZenFone 4V, ZenFone 4 Pro, and ZenFone 4 Selfie.
The company is believed to introduce its latest ZenFone lineup by the end of Q3, 2017. However, the firm hasn’t provided any official details regarding the same. These upcoming smartphones, however, have been assumed to fall in the mid-range category. A high-end smartphone is also being expected from ASUS. However, that remains uncertain at this point of time.
