The Lenovo-backed Motorola brand has been rumored to be working on a new mid-range flagship smartphone called ‘Moto Z2 Force.’ While the company hasn’t provided any official confirmation regarding the same, a new report seems to claim that the new smartphone was recently spotted on China’s official Regulatory Agency website, bearing the model number ‘XT1789-05.’

Official launch soon

It is interesting to note how the model number ‘XT1789-05’ is the same as was spotted sometime last week on benchmarking website, AnTuTu. This further gives away the possibility that the smartphone might very well be on its way for an official launch anytime soon.

As for the specifications of the device is expected to pack 5.2-inch QHD display with 2560 x 1440 pixel resolution. The smartphone is further expected to be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 835 SoC that apparently equips eight Kryo-cores along with Adreno 540 GPU for graphics. The device also apparently extends support for LPDDR4X RAM.

The flagship has cutting-edge specs

On the storage front, the alleged Moto Z2 Force smartphone is expected to offer 6GB of RAM alongside 128GB of internal storage. It has been presumed by several reports that the device will come along with an optional expandable option via its microSD card slot. On the camera front, the smartphone is expected to sport a 12MP #Rear Camera with a 5MP front shooter.

By previously leaked render, Motorola is also expected to pack two separate imaging sensors on the #Moto Z2 Plus’ back panel.

The images that appeared at that time also revealed AT&T logo located towards the bottom of the smartphone. The device — like most other Motorola smartphones — is expected to come with support for Moto Mods. Moto Mods are company’s way to enhance the user-experience with their smartphones.

Apart from this, Motorola is also heavily speculated to get rid of its 3.5mm headphone jack in its upcoming smartphone. Motorola will instead opt for a USB Type-C connector. Since the smartphone has been listed on China’s official Regulatory website, it is safe to assume that the launch date of Motorola’s Moto Z2 Force is near. Reports are suggesting that Motorola is expected to hold an event on July 25th in #New York City. The possibility of Motorola launching its smartphone at the New York City event is high.
