Tech experts and Motorola fans are waiting eagerly for the OEM’s July 25th event scheduled to be held in New York City. It is being hinted that the star of the show would be the Moto Z2 Force smartphone. Now, thanks to reliable leakster Evan Blass, we may know the major carrier which would be offering the smartphone to the consumers for retail. Blass has shared on his official Twitter account that all four major U.S. carriers will be offering the Z2 Force up for purchase when it releases in the market.

All four U.S. carriers getting the handset?

Blass claims that Sprint, AT&T, Verizon, and T-Mobile, all will be offering the Moto Z2 Force upon its release. Given Motorola’s history of device launches in the past, if this rumor turns out to be true, it will be a step in the right direction by the Lenovo-owned brand. In 2016, Motorola released it Moto Z Force as a Verizon exclusive and till date has not changed that status. The standard edition Moto Z which was launched alongside the Moto Z Force was initially launched as a Verizon exclusive as well but later on did get an unlocked GSM variant.

The same situation can be seen with Motorola’s recent launch the Z2 Play. The smartphone which was launched on June 1 is currently available only to a subscriber of Verizon.

However, Motorola has promised that an unlocked variant of the same will be launched at some point in summer.

The first Z series smartphone to get a widespread release

If the claims Blass made turn out to be true then the handset will be the first Moto Z series smartphone to get a Wide Release on all the four most important carried present in the United States.

However, there may be a possibility that Verizon clinch a timed exclusive deal before the device makes an appearance on AT&T, Sprint, and T-Mobile. Nevertheless, it would be refreshing to see the Moto handset get a wide launch and it would be equally delightful to see Motorola ditching its carrier exclusive model release strategy.

Giving the Moto Z2 Force a wide release on all carriers will simply ensure that maximum people have access to the handset from the first day itself.

It is being hinted that the Z2 Force will be boasting of 5.5-inch AMOLED display and many sport a slimmer body than its predecessor. Apart from that, the smartphone is also said to come with a dual camera setup, support for Moto Mods and 64 GB of native storage. However, the worrying part is that the handset come may come with battery whose capacity is 20 percent smaller than its previous iteration.
