Earlier last month, LG took the wraps off its much-awaited flagship smartphones i.e. LG G6 and LG G6 Plus smartphones. The company’s latest innovations managed to shake up the market that currently is dominated by Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus smartphones. Now, the smartphone manufacturer is reportedly working on a toned-down version of its LG G6 smartphone. Several reports are describing the upcoming device as being the ‘Mini’ version of the LG G6 smartphone.

Features of the device

Techno Buffalo citing an internal document stated that the upcoming ‘LG Mini G6’ smartphone will contain features quite similar to that of LG G6 smartphone.

However, the biggest highlight of the upcoming ‘mini’ device will be its display ratio. If reports are believed to be true then the device will most possibly be packing an 18:9 (or 2:1) display aspect ratio. The report further goes on to clarify that it’s not necessary that the LG G6 Mini be called by the aforementioned name. The chances of the model name to be changing are just as high. Apart from that, the LG G6 Mini smartphone will pack a 5.4-inch display — which is slightly smaller than its sibling device LG G6 which comes packed with a 5.6-inch display. The report further goes on to credit its information to prominent tipster Evan Blass, who on Twitter claims that the smartphone may most possibly be called ‘LG Q6.’ Evan Blass also further went on to add that the smartphone — which was recently spotted on FCC platform with model number M700 — will most likely come packed with 3GB of RAM.

On the camera front, the LG Q6 smartphone will sport a 13MP rear camera set-up. Apart from this, no other information regarding the alleged device has been revealed yet.

What speculations suggest regarding the phone

These speculations regarding LG working on a new ‘mini’ version of the LG G6 smartphone began late last year when Techno Buffalo obtained the document containing information regarding the same.

However, at that time it was suggested that the firm may have scrapped the device off altogether. Now that rumors regarding the same have emerged online again, it doesn’t appear like LG G6 is going anywhere. Meanwhile, LG is also working on its next V30 premium flagship smartphone. If reports are believed to be true then LG is planning on integrating an OLED panel with its V30 device. The smartphone is expected to be unveiled at the IFA, 2017 event that is scheduled to take place towards the end of August. Let’s see if that turns out to be true.
