Earlier iPhone 8 rumors suggest Apple is planning to release three new iPhones later this year. An iPhone 7S, iPhone 7S Plus and the much talked about “premium model” iPhone 8.

iPhone 8 delayed until November?

All three models are most likely to be revealed at the same time by Apple. However, recent reports are pointing out that it might take a long time before consumers can get their hands on the iPhone 8. Trusted iPhone leaker, Macotakara, is predicting the 1st Quarter, 2018 release for 10th anniversary iPhone model.

This would mean that unlike the usual September general availability of the newly announced devices, the iPhone 8’s release could be pushed back by late October or early November.

Aside from the delayed release, the 10th-anniversary smartphone is said to be sold in limited numbers. All these delays and shortage can be blamed to the said significant upgrades planned for the iPhone 8 with several reports about shortage of peripherals to manufacture the device.

No more Touch ID?

Macotakara has also revealed, that it is still a big question of where and how Apple is planning to integrate Touch Id on the iPhone 8. Stating that the Home button wouldn’t have any holes to give access to the Touch ID sensor.

He also detailed that the new Apple smartphone would be equipped with Face ID that, “assembles a rainbow color certificate and 3D Facial Recognition certificate. This confirms several reports of Apple adding a 3D sensing front-camera that aids with facial recognition.

Back in February, KGI’s Ming-Chi Kuo stated that the next Apple phone would be equipped with a “revolutionary” front-camera with an Infrared module.

Now, regarding unlocking the smartphone using its software. Aside from the Raise To Wake function that was introduced with last year's iOS 10, Apple is once again is considering a new way of launching your device using a new natural unlocking mechanism.

Very limited color options

Lastly, Macotakara confirms that it is indeed “not possible” to manufacture the iPhone 8 in white. Claiming that the iPhone 8’s current available frames only comes in black and is “highly possible” that the color variation of Apple’s next flagship device to be limited.
