AMD has reportedly launched its much-awaited Radeon Vega Frontier Edition video card globally. The company made the fans wait for a long time. After much speculation, the graphics card manufacturer has finally taken the wraps off its video card. Interested buyers can purchase the card from the company’s official website or leading e-commerce stores at a starting price of $999.

A powerful GPU

Advanced Micro Devices or AMD alongside the price of its latest Radeon Vega, also revealed the key specifications set to come packed with the same. If reports are believed to be true then the Vega Frontier Edition clocks at 1,600 Mhz at its peak operation.

In other words, the card will output a performance of 1,600 Mhz even when it is at its highest functionality. Meanwhile, its normal functional output is at a frequency of 1,382 MHz. Moreover, users have the option of choosing from two versions — the air-cooled Radeon Vega Frontier Edition, which is priced at $999 and the liquid-cooled GPU, which is priced at $1,499. As mentioned by Anandtech, the latest AMD GPU packs a Dual-Stack high, Bandwidth Memory 2 (HBM2).

Specs and features of the latest GPU

It was previously expected to pack Graphics Double Data Rate Type 5 (GDDR5) Memory. However, it appears like the company decided to settle for a higher version for the Dual-Stack high, Bandwidth Memory 2 (HBM2).

Furthermore, the said GPU offers a total of 16GB of video-card memory. This is especially beneficial for the professionals and their day-to-day tasks. The current speed of Radeon Vega Frontier Edition clocks at approximately 1.89 Gigabits per second. Therefore, in other words, the graphic card ends up delivering a total memory bandwidth of around 483GB per second.

Just before AMD took the wraps off its latest GPUn, benchmark results of the same had started emerging online. As reported by The Verge, the review samples released by experts suggested that users should pass the idea of purchasing the latest Radeon Vega in favor of Vega RX series of Video Cards, which is scheduled to launch soon.

The experts even stated that the current line-up of said graphic card is ideal for professional activities such as 3D modeling, computing-aided designing, video-gaming and other such similar professional applications. AMD has also fit the latest GPU's with a special dual-mode driver. This makes the professional and gaming experience much speedier than its predecessor.
