Xiaomi has pretty much made it official that Mi Mix 2 is in the making. The Chinese tech giant, however, hasn’t offered any details regarding the device’s specs or release date as yet. Major innovations like Mi Mix 2 usually are followed by endless rumors and speculation based reports. Thanks to these postings, the fans can at least gain an idea of what they can expect in the upcoming smartphone. A new bunch of freshly-leaked speculations indicate that the Flagship is going to equip an upgraded display and a couple of other improved features.

What did sources reveal?

According to a report by Android Headlines, sources in China have released a leaked Xiaomi document that reveals the key features of the Xiaomi Mi Mix 2. On the basis of the information in the document, it seems like the phablet is going to sport a larger 6.4-inch display. Apart from this, it seems like the other design specifications will be the same as the original Xiaomi Mi Mix. In other words, the smartphone will pack an all-screen front panel with minimal bezels. The report further went on to suggest that the upcoming device might be similar to Samsung’s recently-launched Galaxy S8 smartphone in many ways. The report even indicated that the designers working on the said smartphone have decided to opt for the basic form factor that came in last year’s Mix Mix smartphone.

In other words, the phone will flaunt an almost similar screen-to-body ratio, with the only difference being in terms of percentage. It will be increased from 91.3 per cent to 93 per cent in the phone. If this turns out to be true then the Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 will be notably similar to the Galaxy S8 which sports the same screen-to-body ratio.

Specs and features of the flagship

As far as the other specifications are concerned, the upcoming smartphone will most probably be powered by Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 835 SoC. As can be recalled, last year’s Mi Mix was also powered by the latest (of that time) Snapdragon 821 processor. Therefore, the chances of Snapdragon 835 SoC powering the upcoming device are pretty high.

If this turns out to be true then the flagship will fall in direct competition with other flagship smartphones in the market, including samsung galaxy S8, Google Pixel 2 and Nokia 9. On the storage front, the device is expected to offer 8GB of RAM. Moreover, it is believed that the smartphone will come with two internal storage options, namely 128GB and 256GB. On the camera front, the device might pack a dual rear camera setup, with a fingerprint sensor located on the rear panel of the device.
