The OnePlus 5 is slated to be unveiled soon, and Oneplus fans have been waiting eagerly to find out what the successor of the OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T devices has in store for them. Fans greatly appreciated both the earlier handsets due to the premium specs and features and also the mid-budget price tag. This is why speculation surrounding the upcoming handset is at an all time high.

Latest leaks reveal some specs of the upcoming smartphone from the Chinese smartphone maker. The next-gen device has also been spotted on some popular benchmarking sites that provide some details of the phone.

OnePlus 5 spotted on Geekbench

The OnePlus 5 handset bearing the model number A5000 was spotted on the benchmarking portal. The listing revealed that the smartphone ran on the Android 7.1.1 Nougat operating system and was powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 MSM8998 chipset clocked at 1.9 GHz. The phone spotted on Geekbench runs on 8 GB of RAM. It is highly likely that the phone will get Android O update later.

The benchmarking site also revealed the score that the device had achieved in the benchmarking tests. On the single core section, the OnePlus 5 has scored 1917. While on the multi-core tests the device has scored 6562.

Evan Blass leaked specs and launch date of OnePlus 5

On Wednesday, June 7, well-known tipster Evan Blass leaked revealed that the upcoming phone would indeed come with 8 GB of RAM and will be powered by an octa-core 2.35 GHz Snapdragon 835 processor.

The leak also revealed that it would launch on June 20. Blass said that he found the information on Amazon India website. However, it seems that the online retailer realized its error and soon took the page off.

Rumored specs of the OnePlus 5

Per the leaks and rumors, the OnePlus 5 device is expected to sport a 5.5-inch Quad HD (2,560 x 1,440 pixels) AMOLED display with a 2.5D glass-covered touchscreen.

Along with the latest Snapdragon 835 processor, the handset will also include Adreno 540 GPU.

It is believed that two variants of the device will be available at launch. One will boast 6 GB of RAM, while the other higher variant will come with 8 GB of RAM. Dual camera setup is also expected in the handset, with a 12-megapixel primary shooter and an 8-megapixel selfie sensor. The price of the impending handset has not been revealed yet, but speculations are rife that it will start at $450. The flagship is expected to be unveiled on June 20.
