It is expected to be unlike anything introduced by Microsoft ever before. CEO of Microsoft, Satya Nadella has on several occasions suggesting that the upcoming Surface Phone is going to be the breakthrough-kind.

As it turns out, the smartphone will be falling directly in competition with major other flagship smartphones such as Apple iPhone 8, Google Pixel 2, Samsung Galaxy S8 and Note 8 smartphones and Nokia 9 among others.

Microsoft General Manager for Surface, Ryan Gavin in a recent interview with Business Insider stated that the Surface Phone is indeed in the making but fans who are expecting a conventional design with the device is going to be left disappointed. It is interesting to note how this isn’t the first time that Microsoft has teased the upcoming smartphone in such a manner.

If rumors are believed to be true, then the Surface Phone is going to be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 835 SoC. Moreover, the device is even expected to offer either 4GB or 6GB of RAM. There’s a possibility that the smartphone may come in both the storage variants as well.

Since Apple and Samsung are already going to be taking the wraps off their flagship smartphones i.e. iPhone 8 and Galaxy Note 8 respectively later this year, it is expected of Microsoft to do the same.
