The newly announced Microsoft Surface Laptop and the new Surface Pro have officially gone on sale. The devices are now available for purchase in over 25 markets worldwide. The Microsoft Surface Laptop is the company’s Window’s 10S flagship device. Apart from the news of the new Microsoft devices going on sale, the Redmond-based company has expanded the availability of its Surface Studio desktop ensemble to more markets.

Surface Laptop releases in global markets

There are multiple variants of the Surface Laptop, one powered by the 7th-gen Intel Core I7 and the other by the i5 CPU.

The laptop provides 14.5 hours of video playback and comes in three variants - 4GB, 8GB, or 16GB of RAM along with 128GB, 256GB, or 512GB of SSD options. The laptop is fitted with Omnisonic Speakers, which provides the user Dolby Audio Premium sound. The Surface Laptop also boasts an edge-to-edge 13.5-inch PixelSense touchscreen display with ultra thin bezels.

Price and colors

The device will be available for purchase in four colors, Cobalt Blue, Burgundy, Platinum, and Graphite Gold. The price of the Surface Laptop varies depending on the various permutations and combinations of the specs of the device. The 128 GB, Intel Core I5 4GB of RAM variant costs $999 and the 8GB of RAM and 256 GB onboard SSD on Intel Core i5 variant costs $1,299.

The Intel Core i7 variant with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal memory costs $1,599, while the 16GB of RAM and 512GB SSD variant costs $2,199.

The new Surface Pro

Microsoft has started taking pre-orders for the new Surface Pro 2-in-1 detachable laptop. The device can be transformed into a tablet and comes with a 12.3-inch PixelSense display with 2736 x 1824 pixels resolution.

Although from the outside the new device may look akin to its predecessor, the 2-in-1 has been completely revamped under the hood.

The new Surface Pro offers up to 13.5 hours of battery life and runs on the Windows 10 Pro operating system. The device is fueled by Intel 7th-gen Core m3, i5, or i7. The next-generation device is available in three variants: 4GB, 8GB, and 16GB of RAM.

However, in terms of SSD options, the device comes in four variants: 128GB, 256GB, 512GB, or 1TB. The Surface Pen comes as an additional accessory and has to be bought separately. While the lowest price of the new Surface Pro is $799 the highest price is $2,699. The pricing differs depending on the processor, RAM and SSD capacity.
