Apple is scheduled to conduct the annual Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC 2017) from June 5 to June 9 at the McEnery Convention Center in San Jose, California. Even though the WWDC 2017 event is oriented for developers, the Cupertino-based company will also likely announce new products, which will be released before the end of 2017. In this article, we will examine what to expect from the WWDC 2017.

iOS 11

As expected, Apple will announce the arrival of iOS 11 with the release of a developer preview. Like in the iOS 10, you can expect the addition of a wide range of new features including a new dark mode, which will be useful for the iPhone 8 with an OLED display.

Moreover, the iOS 11 will improve the Apple Pencil functionality in iPad.

Enhanced Siri

The iOS 11 operating platform ships with Siri. You can expect Apple to infuse improved features into the upcoming Siri voice assistant. With the recent acquisition of several small Artificial Intelligence start-ups, the Siri will incorporate enhanced features not found in the previous counterparts.

macOS 10.3

Apple MacBook computers will get a big boost with the arrival of macOS 10.3. According to rumors, the company will push incremental updates in 2017 and will be available in a beta format, to begin with. Moreover, Apple will also announce major changes with new features to WatchOS and TVOS. A refreshed user interface design is on the cards, which will bring an improved experience coupled with a tight integration with iOS.

Siri speaker

In contrast with the previous WWDC editions, Apple is expected to announce a new Siri speaker, which is a smart home speaker unit. The speaker will compete with Google Home and Amazon Echo and will integrate all the features of the latest version of Siri. The advantage of the speaker is that you can work with Siri without using Apple iPhone or iPad.

iPad Pro 10.5

If rumors are to be believed, you can expect the arrival of iPad Pro 10.5, which will be housed in between the 9.7-inch and 12.9-inch display variant. Touted to be oriented for the US educational segment, the upcoming iPad Pro will be marketed as an alternative to MacBook. Moreover, the new tablet will feature bezel-less display, Apple A11 processor paired with iOS 11 and other latest technologies.

MacBook

Apple will release new MacBooks in addition to hardware upgrade to the existing versions during the upcoming WWDC 2017. The company is planning to ship MacBooks with the Intel Core processor with enhanced RAM and storage without any significant changes to the design.

If you are unable to attend Apple WWDC 2017, you can watch the entire proceedings using either Microsoft Edge (Windows 10) or Safari browser (Apple devices) on June 5 at 10 AM PDT (10.30PM IST).
