Niantic Labs has been keeping players very happy. It has been a crazy year for "Pokemon GO" fans as the developer rolls out update after update and event after event. Today another update was released, which aside from making players happy, also give them something to think about.

Promo codes update

Earlier, Niantic Labs launched another update to the widely played augmented reality game. Dubbed as the "Pokemon GO" Promo Code feature, the update was released as part of the unannounced patch. This latest update is currently available only to Android users.

The update can be accessed for viewing at the FAQ website run also by the game developer.

According to the developer, the game rolls out Promo Codes through special events and partnerships. In addition, the team noted that the promo codes can be used to redeem items such as Lure Modules, Lucky Eggs, and Poke Balls. Aside from those, several others speculate that the codes can also be used in exchange for Candy, Stardust, Poke Coins, and Avatar aesthetics.

There is speculation that the recent feature will stay as an Android exclusive feature. The Apple store is restricted from using the said feature. This latest feature has been long awaited by the fans as they were previously revealed in the game's master code in the early part of 2017.

Data miners have first uncovered about these codes in March. In other words, the game developer has already planned these things and are just waiting for the perfect time to release.

For players who would like to get this code, several important things must be remembered. This includes that the code entry will be text based.

In addition, it is important to note that some codes will deliver Lucky Eggs and some Poke Balls. Some codes will deliver Lure Modules while some items were not yet officially confirmed.

Preparation for Legendaries

Several reports suggest that this latest promo code feature is rolled out to be used as a device for the Legendary Pokemon that will be released sometime in 2017.

According to this claim, the Legendary type of pocket monsters will be introduced in the widely played augmented reality game through the promo code.

Aside from that, other reports said that the codes will potentially sponsor Pokestops deals. This could be for example applied to Starbucks collaborating with "Pokemon GO" and will serve as special Pokestops. The coffee shop will give out free Lure for a particular drink or for every sale of it.
