An alleged video presentation from Motorola’s conference leaked online gave people a brief glimpse into what the company will likely launch by end 2017. The presentation video that leaked was deleted, but not before it offered a peek into the alleged handsets from the company. The company is also expected to launch a slew of new handsets in its Moto X, Moto Z, Moto E, and Moto G series. Alleged press renders have now leaked online and showcase two devices from the “Z” lineup, namely Z2 Play and Z2 Force.

What do the leaked press renders reveal?

The alleged press renders show off the front and back of both the Moto Z2 devices.

The front sides of both smartphones are nearly identical. The Z2 Play and Z2 Force will reportedly sport a front-mounted rectangular fingerprint scanner per the leak.

Examining the rear side of the devices reveals the major difference between the two handsets. The Z2 Force features a horizontally aligned dual-camera setup with round lens. On the other hand, the Z2 Play is seen sporting a single rear-facing camera with a similar rounded lens in the leaked render. Another difference that is visible from the leaked renders is the absence of the 3.5 mm headphone jack in the Z2 Play. The company may have ditched it in favor of the USB-C connector.

The design of the impending series seems similar to the Moto G5 and Moto G5 Plus, which were released earlier this year.

The press renders confirm support for the Moto Mods for the two smartphones.

Expected specs and features of the Motorola smartphones

Early rumors and speculations indicate that the Z2 Play will boast a 5.5-inch FHD display. The handset will house a Snapdragon 626 processor and possibly 4 GB of RAM. The smartphone may also come with 64 GB of onboard storage (which may be expandable).

The handset is also expected to come with Android 7.1.1 Nougat out of the box. Camera wise, the device may boast a 12MP primary camera and a 5MP selfie snapper. It is also rumored to pack in a 3,000 mAh battery.

The Z2 Force, on the other hand, is expected to sport a 5.5-inch Quad HD display with ShatterShield support. Rumors also indicate that the smartphone will feature the Snapdragon 835 processor.

Unlike its predecessor, the next-gen handset will likely not be a Verizon exclusive.

It remains to be seen when the company will finally out the impending handsets and if the devices will live up to consumer expectations.
