There is no doubt that Minecraft is one of the most popular games in the world at the moment. Despite its success, the game continues to develop and update its system now and then. So, what should the fans expect from the latest updates in the game?

"Minecraft" developed by Mojang is a game about placing blocks and going on an adventure. Aside from various items that need to be collected like coal, stick, wooden planks and cobblestone, there are also different animals that are involved in the game. Animals like sheep, pigs, cows, chickens and parrots which is a recent addition.

Minecraft will patch parrots after outcry

Just like any other Minecraft animal, if you feed two nearby parrots with a chocolate cookie it will produce a baby. This process is causing public disapproval. Chocolate may be an aphrodisiac, but unfortunately, it is lethal to parrots. And since young players widely play the game, it may encourage them to feed pet parrots a sweet cookie treat and inadvertently kill them.

A Reddit post from 1jl calling for Minecraft's parrots to be patched garnered 37k upvotes. It is Reddit’s most upvoted post of all time making it impossible for Minecraft not to notice it. In Minecraft’s defense, they use the cookies in order for it to find a place within the game, and also they based it from Nirvana’s song 'Polly.' It states Polly wants a cracker, Maybe she would like some food, She asks me to untie her.

A chase would be nice for a few. Polly in the said song is a parrot.

Minecraft’s effect on kids

Being the most popular game played by kids, it is given that they spend too many hours on it whether desktop or mobile. And it is impossible that it would not affect kid’s behavior in a way. That is what the lead creative designer Jens Bergensten is worrying.

According to an interview with Motherboard, the possibility of negatively influencing kids' behavior is not something his team wants to do.

If any game, including "Minecraft," has anything to impart to children, it should be a positive outlook towards the world. Every company, especially the one that caters kids should keep in mind that children see all things as positive and they are good imitators.

Hopefully, the 1.12 update of "Minecraft" will be released soon so that the incorrect feeding will be patched or modified.

As of this writing, the release date of the latest update for “Minecraft” is yet to be announced. Thus, readers are advised to take this with a grain of salt.
