Bandai Namco has released new details for the upcoming Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth Hacker's Memory for the Sony PS4 and the PS Vita. It showcases the new Domination Battle System, new characters including Yuugo, Aranata Sanada, and Ryuji Mishima. Moreover, it also marks the 20th anniversary of Digimon, in celebration, the game will feature a new digital monster named Zubamon and his three evolutions, Zubaeagermon, Duramon, and Durandamon.

New characters and new gameplay

The conflict between hackers has erupted in the world of Digimon, and the battle for the ultimate power has begun prompting a young, appealing hacker named Yuugo to lead his group called the Zaxon to fight their rights against a legendary hacking crew called Jude.

The latter is lead by a former hacker named Arata Sanada. Players will be joining a faction led by Ryuji Mishima to fight and press on to victory.

Bandai Namco also stated that they added a new mode called Domination Battle that takes place between the hacker groups. It is a free-for-all campaign that lets players take over a server domain in the digital world. It comes with a whole new element of war where gamers will experience a strategic combat unlike any other found in the franchise's previous titles.

In the mode, two teams will be pit against each other. An ally and an enemy team will battle for the rights of a particular network area. The teams will start off in a neutral state, and the area will change according to the team's color banners.

The mode's aim is to take over the cyberspace to collect area-points.

20th Anniversary Edition

2017 marks the 20th anniversary of Digimon, to make the game appeal to many enthusiasts, Bandai Namco will be adding a new digital monster to the title. Zubamon and all of its three evolutions will be playable in Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth Hacker's Memory.

Digimon or Digital Monsters is a Japanese media franchise that started in 1997 as a series of virtual pets fashioned to Tamagotchi or Giga Pet toys. It later evolved into its present form thanks to the influence of American comics, and it gained ground when it aired its first anime series called Digimon Adventure in 1999.

It followed up with a video game version in the same year and has since bubbled up into a multimillion franchise that is beloved by everybody.

Aside from RPG titles, the franchise has also entered genres such as racing, fighting, and release of several MMORPG's. Expect more information on the following weeks, Bandai Namco is keeping its hands busy by also releasing screenshots of Dragon Ball Zenoverse 2.
