As you undoubtedly know, E3 2017 is fast approaching. Previously, we did discuss some of the conferences and their times, but we know have confirmation of a few more plus one rather nice surprise.

E3 2017 has definitely been improving over the last few years, as we have seen a much-needed re-focusing on actual gameplay rather than cinematic trailers or misleading "vertical slices". Hopefully, this trend will continue with this year's set of conferences.

E3 is once again taking place in Los Angeles, on June 13-15, and will be livestreamed on Twitch as well.

It will undoubtedly feature many releases for this coming holiday (and probably a few in the summer, as well). But it will even have some teases and reveals for 2018. So, with that in mind, there are many games we are hoping to see. But let's get the nitty gritty details out of the way first.

Conference Timetable

  • EA - Saturday, June 10 at 10 PM PT
  • Microsoft - Sunday, June 11 at 2 PM PT
  • Bethesda - Sunday, June 11 at 7 PM PT
  • PC Gaming Show - Monday, June 12 at 10 AM PT
  • Ubisoft - Monday, June 12 at 1 PM PT
  • Sony - Monday, June 12 at 6 PM PT
  • Nintendo - Tuesday, June 13 at 9 AM PT
  • Devolver Digital - TBA
  • Square Enix - TBA

As you can see, we have a new addition this year in the form of Devolver Digital. They are probably one of the bigger publishers in indie gaming , and they are best known for publishing games that are a bit unusual.

They are best known for titles such as "Hotline Miami", "Mother Russia Bleeds" and "Hatoful Boyfriend". What they have to show us will undoubtedly be interesting, but I am personally hoping for a new Hotline Miami game.

But, speaking of hopes, let's discuss what I'm hoping for from some of the heavy hitters at E3 this year.

Games we hope to see

Last year's E3 was stellar, with games like "God of War", "ARMS" and "We Happy Few" making an appearance, so this year definitely has some big shoes to fill. But let's look at some of the heavy hitters and we can hope for from them.

Sony

There have been a lot of rumours abound as always, but one of the more interesting ones is the rumour surrounding "Bloodborne 2".

Although the image that surfaced has been debunked as fake, it still got tongues wagging. But as much as I would love to see another "Bloodborne" game, From Software made it clear that they are done with the series.

More reasonable expectations would be more of "The Last of Us 2", "Days Gone" and "Detroit: Become Human", since we saw those last year. While I would not expect "The Last of Us 2" to come out this year, we still might get some actual gameplay this time. Another one that I would be surprised to not see would be the new "Spiderman" title from Insomniac, as we barely got more than a snippet last time.

Of course, many are expecting Hideo Kojima to appear with his mysterious "Death Stranding" as well.

Bethesda

As good as their previous shows have been, I am not expecting a showstopper from them this time. Unless they have some unexpected "DOOM" singleplayer DLC up their sleeve, I am expecting more on the card game "Elder Scrolls Legends". We also probably get more on the "Elder Scrolls" MMO. But, naturally, hopes are there for them to show "The Elder Scrolls 6". As much as I would like this, I'm not expecting it, as Bethesda has made it clear that the next title in the "Scrolls" series is still in its very early stages.

Microsoft

Game wise, Microsoft usually has a few surprises up their sleeve but I think we can finally expect to see "Crackdown 3" make an appearance. We can also expect something from 343 Industries, we already know not to hope for an appearance from "Halo 6".

But, the real star of their show is undoubtedly going to be "Project Scorpio". Although we already know the specifications of the machine, we will most likely learn the price, release date, and appearance of the console at E3.

And the rest...

As for the rest of the conference, I am personally hoping for "Assassin's Creed" to show itself after a couple of years away from our screens, but many are hoping for at least a teaser for the revival of "Beyond Good and Evil". There is also the rumoured "Shadow of the Tomb Raider" as well, which could make an appearance at Square Enix's conference. But, the two that most people are hoping for from them are probably "Kingdom Hearts 3" and "Final Fantasy 7".

I could be here all day talking and getting hyped about E3 2017, but we will just have to wait and see what it has in store for us.
