The 2016 Samsung flagships Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge available from US Cellular has finally received the Android 7.0 Nougat update. The fifth largest network carrier in the United States will be rolling out the update from April 21 to all users. To update the two Samsung smartphones to Android Nougat, one has to navigate to “Settings,” and choose the “About Device” option. Next, Click on “Software Update” on the “About Device” option. Lastly, click OK, and follow the on-screen instructions.

How to install the update

For those who still haven’t received the OTA Android Nougat update on their devices, they can install it from Samsung Kies.

However, to install it, a USB is needed along with a PC. The steps for downloading Samsung Kies on or PC are pretty easy.

First, use the USB port to connect the two Android smartphones to the computer. Next, start the Samsung Kies app on your computer. In case a new firmware update is available for download, it will be reflected on the Basic Information Tab.

From this tab click on the new update to download the same. Once the update is downloaded, you can install it on your smartphone.

Important points to remember before downloading

US Cellular mentioned that before opting for the Android Nougat update, both the Galaxy S7 and the edge must be connected to a Google account. There must be proper Wi-Fi connection, to carry out an uninterrupted and fast download.

Once all the updates have been installed, the Galaxy S7 will be on build G930R4TYU4BQC5, and the Galaxy S7 Edge will build on G935R4TYU4BQC5.
