As one of the most successful game franchises, many are anticipating the release of "Grand Theft Auto 6" especially after the success of its previous releases. But according to reports, there is a possibility that the release of the game will be delayed.
It has been three years since its last title launch, and it is not surprising that fans are repeatedly asking Rockstar Games about an update of the game's development.
But it appears that the game developer prefers to release the game once the next-generation consoles are already out.
Delayed much longer?
Usually, there are updates about a certain game which is currently in the works. But for the case of "GTA 6," there isn't any. This made fans think that there will no longer be another release for the title or its release date is still years from now.
It is said that one of the reasons for the delay is the production of "Red Dead Redemption 2." Although "RDR 2" is already set for release two months from now, which means that they are done creating the game, there are still no details about "GTA 6."
Up to now, there is no clear indication yet that the game will be out soon.
But there isn't any confirmation too if it will indeed be released three years from now.
Despite this, fans are still hopeful that the game will be out and will not be canceled like other games. Back in 2013, Rockstar North president Leslie Benzies said in an interview that they do not know what "Grand Theft Auto 6" will be like. But at least, it is in the pipeline.
Advanced consoles for the game
There are speculations that the game will arrive at 2020 along with the release of highly improved consoles like Sony's PlayStation 5 or even Xbox Two from Microsoft. As of now, there isn't any confirmation of the release of these consoles which makes video game enthusiasts think that these could also be released at the same time with the game.
A new report emerged that Microsoft Xbox Project Scorpio, which is dubbed as a powerful gaming system, is still not enough for "GTA 6" especially that it will be out later this year. Or maybe it is just the timing that made it impossible for Project Scorpio to host the game.
Theories and speculations
As always, there would be theories and speculations from fans who are eagerly waiting for the game's release. One of the famous theories is the possibility of a female protagonist. There are also speculations about the game's location which include London, Vice City, and the US.
If the game will indeed utilize a huge US map, there is a possibility that a teleportation system will be available to make movement around the city easier. Although there are reports that the "GTA 6" is set in the 70's in Vice City, there are also reports that it could be in a contemporary and modern-day setting in the UK.
