The Mega Stone distribution event has begun for both “Pokémon Sun” and “Pokémon Moon” games, the Pokémon Company announced. This means that players can start claiming Mewtwonite X and Mewtwonite by way of the Mega Mewtwo code. This is all part of Nintendo’s special distribution event. Although Mewtwonite X and Y are among the most robust available Pokémon, Mega Stones are, in fact, more valuable since they cannot be carried over through the Pokémon Bank.

“You can get Mewtwo's Mega Stones in your Pokémon Sun or Pokémon Moon game via a special code,” says the announcement via the official Pokémon website.

“The Legendary Pokémon Mewtwo is already formidable in battle, but when it Mega Evolves into Mega Mewtwo X or Mega Mewtwo Y it becomes even more powerful.”

Mega Mewtwonite X and Mega Mewtwonite Y via Poké Transporter

The Nintendo 3DS exclusives are void of the Mewtwo Pokémon as of the moment but an option stands. The Poké Transporter can be used to transfer pocket monsters that were earlier formed by genetic manipulation in the previous games.

Unlike the previous promos wherein players are given a QR code, this “Pokémon Sun and Moon” giveaway uses a regular code, which is M2DESCENT. To start, players need to go to the Mystery Gift tab then select Receive Gift and follow the remaining instructions.

Once the stones are received, it is important to save the game to make sure the items are successfully kept.

Your chance to get the Mewtwos is granted by Nintendo

Hardcore Pokémon gamers know that Mewtwo is currently unavailable in the “Pokémon Sun and Moon” Alola region. However, the Mega Stones will make it possible for gamers to have the elusive pocket monster through the Pokémon Bank, which is essentially a deposit box for all captured monsters.

Nintendo is yet to announce the end date for the promo. For now, “Pokémon Sun and Moon” fans still have the chance to collect the Mega Stones. Meanwhile, the codes for unlocking the items for Beedrillite and Mawilite will be handed out to select players beginning March 7. The company is yet to make further announcements through their official website.
