When Niantic introduced the Gen 2 pocket monsters in the augmented reality game “Pokemon GO,” players noticed that the evolution items required to evolve several creatures are very rare to acquire. These special items, which are basically found in Pokestops have been the center of recent complaints from players as they currently have the lowest drop rate among any item in the game.

Niantic recently announced an upcoming update that would certainly resolve this present issue. On March 21, Niantic posted on their site some vital information. The company stated that at present the phenomenal game is in the process of being updated to version 0.59.1 for Android and 1.29.1 for iOS devices.

In addition, it also released the notes, which include minor text fixes. The most interesting part of the announcement is the 7-day ‘First PokéStop of the Day’ streak which will now award a random Evolution item.

Evolution items

These items are among the essentials in playing the game as they are needed to evolve several pocket monsters. You need to pair this item with a corresponding number of candies to evolve the creatures into the Pokemon of your choice. King’s Rock, for instance, is needed along with 100 candies to evolve Poliwhirl into Politoed. With 50 candies, you can evolve Slowpoke into Slowking using the King’s Rock.

Dragon Scale is another, which evolves Seadra into Kingdra alongside 50 candies.

Metal Coat, on the other hand, with 50 candies evolves Onix into Steelix or Scyther into Scizor. You can also evolve Gloom into Bellossom using 100 candies or Sunkern into Sunflora using 50 candies.

Update 0.59.1 for Android and 1.29.1 for iOS devices

According to Niantic, when trainers have completed the seven-day Pokestop streak, achieved by activating one Pokestop daily, they will get a guaranteed evolution item. The item is randomly chosen from the list of evolution items available. This seven-day bonus has been in “Pokemon GO,” however, in the past, players only got double XP or other regular items.
