So far, the 2017-2018 NBA season has been an up and down ride for LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers. James and the Cavs began their campaign with a 5-7 record. After this, they went on a tear and regained their winning ways. However, at the moment, they are struggling once again.

It all began on December 25, 2017, when LeBron and company suffered a 99-92 loss to their rivals, the Golden State Warriors. It was the start of a three-game losing slide that also saw Cleveland fall to the Sacramento Kings (109-95) and the Utah Jazz (104-101).

James and the Cavaliers bounced back on January 2 with an impressive 127-110 victory over the Portland Trail Blazers.

Unfortunately, a day after topping the Blazers, they succumbed to the Boston Celtics, 102-88.

Back on track

On January 6, Cleveland was back on track when it edged the Orlando Magic, 131-127. Sadly, this was followed by a four-game losing streak. The string of losses is causing panic in "The Land," and here are the reasons why. First, the Cavaliers got dominated by the Minnesota Timberwolves (127-99) and the Toronto Raptors (133-99) in consecutive outings. Then, they were bested by the Indiana Pacers (97-95) in a contest where they led as much as 22 points. The latest blow was when the Warriors handed them a 118-108 defeat.

In doubt

The recent developments led some "prominent" names on the Cleveland Cavaliers roster to doubt, according to three news sites.

Cleveland.com, ESPN, and The Athletic reported that some Cavs players, who wished to remain anonymous, are concerned. They believe the issues that are currently terrorizing the team this season will be hard to resolve. A report by SB Nation suggested that LeBron James could be among those guys.

Indeed it is possible that LeBron is a part of that group.

James is never shy to speak his mind, especially when it comes to troubles within the Cleveland Cavaliers. In the past few years, the 33-year-old veteran has been vocal each time he talks about what the Cavs must do or what type of player they need to improve.

Purple and gold

If it is true that LeBron James is once again losing faith in the Cleveland Cavaliers, then that is excellent news for the Los Angeles Lakers.

Many think that LeBron is departing Cleveland for the second time. One of the teams rumored to be a frontrunner to land him if he does is the Lakers.

It is no secret that the Lakers aim to sign big names in this year's free agency. They are searching for a star player/s that will help them transform into a playoff contender. LeBron James is one of their targets and if he is having problems with the Cavaliers it might be easier to acquire him.
