Jim Harbaugh rumors are an annual event. You know, like Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year’s Day. The same can also be said for former NFL head coach Jon Gruden. Usually the rumblings don’t start until late December, however, this year they have started early. Both Harbaugh and Gruden have a strong resume, but will they jump at an offer from the NFL or NCAA if given a chance?

Harbaugh will be sought after - a lot

Jim Harbaugh can say he loves his job in Ann Arbor, which I totally believe he does. However, it won’t stop NFL owners from inquiring about the former 49ers front man.

After all, you can’t blame owners for at least inquiring into Harbaugh, who has had great success everywhere he has coached.

According to a CBS Sports report, several teams will definitely have interest in the former NFL quarterback including the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, New York Giants and most notably the Cleveland Browns.

Remember, just one year ago, many sources reported that Indianapolis Colts owner Jim Irsay reached out to see if Harbaugh, a former Colt, had any interest in the head coaching position. While Indy most likely won’t be looking that way this offseason, the NY Giants may be.

On paper, it would make sense for Harbaugh to head to New York if he did decide to leave Ann Arbor for the NFL.

The talent the Giants have on their current roster leaves many fans mind boggled that they have had such little success the past two seasons. With many reports that the G-Men have quit on current head coach Ben McAdoo, don’t be surprised if the Giants show interest in Harbaugh this offseason.

Gruden to Tennessee, Buccaneers?

Jon Gruden is on the clock - again!

Every fan believes that one day Gruden will bolt out of the ESPN Monday Night Football booth and hit the sidelines once again. With the recent firing of Tennessee head coach Butch Jones, the rumor of Gruden taking over down in Rocky Top has fans dreaming about a winning program once again.

Even Tennessee Athletic Director John Currie cracked an ominous smile when asked by a reporter about the possibility of Jon Gruden taking over the Tenessee program.

CBS Sports is reporting that Currie will make a serious run at the former Oakland Raiders and Tampa Bay Buccaneers coach this offseason.

Rumors have circulated in the past about Gruden heading to Tennessee, yet nothing ever materialized. By the sounds of things, the Vols are taking the second time around a lot more serious in landing their new coach. Sportsline is also indicating that Gruden's former team, the Tampa Bay Bucs, may make a serious run at their former head coach. One thing is for sure, it is going to be an interesting bowl season for both Harbaugh and Gruden as these rumors will likely begin to grow.
