Seattle Seahawks linebacker K.J. Wright has been fined by the NFL for a facemask penalty that he received against the New York Giants on Sunday (Oct. 22). A report by NBC Sports just relayed that fine, stating that it was $9,115 and that Wright found out about it on Friday (Oct. 27). The play in question took place during the first quarter when Wright tackled Giants running back Orleans Darkwa, but grabbed his facemask in the process.

In that same quarter, Giants linebacker Keenan Robinson hit Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson while the teams were battling it out in the red zone.

Robinson was flagged for roughing the passer, giving the Seahawks another first down. It was one of several penalties that helped the Seahawks on that drive. The NFL fined Robinson $18,231 for the hit, causing his game check to take quite a big hit.

Seahawks beat Giants

After a really sluggish first half of football, with the Seattle Seahawks getting outscored 7-3, the team bounced back with a big second half. The Seahawks escaped with a 24-7 road win over the Giants and improved to 4-2 on the season. It helped the team keep pace with the Los Angeles Rams (5-2), who won a very one-sided game over the Arizona Cardinals. It sets up an interesting battle for the NFC West this year.

In the updated NFL playoff standings, the Rams are the No.

3 seed in the NFC as the first-place team in the NFC West. They lose a tiebreaker to the Minnesota Vikings (5-2), showing how close things are in the current standings. The Seahawks slide into the first NFC Wild Card slot and the No. 5 seed in the conference. If the season ended today, the Seahawks would play the New Orleans Saints in a first-round playoff game.

Seahawks prepare for Week 8 game

The Seattle Seahawks play the Houston Texans on Sunday (Oct. 29) with a start time of 1:05 PM PT. It’s an important game for the Seahawks to win, as it would put the team in first place. The Los Angeles Rams have a bye this week and the teams would share identical records with a Seahawks victory over the Texans.

Due to winning the head-to-head game earlier in the season, the Seahawks hold the tiebreaker over the Rams.

According to the latest odds for the Seattle vs. Houston game, the Seahawks are six-and-a-half point favorites to win the game. The Vegas oddsmakers also have the over/under at 46 points for the battle between quarterbacks Russell Wilson and Deshaun Watson. It sets this up to be an intriguing game for the two franchises, both knowing how important it could be to pick up a Week 8 victory.
