Michael Jordan is considered the greatest basketball player in NBA history and not many players have close to him and his legacy. Jordan won six championships, five MVP awards and numerous other accolades, and he's considered the greatest for a good reason. The former Chicago Bulls guard was a fantastic two-way player who completely changed the game and made his name known all around the globe.

However, Jordan might lose his spot as the greatest player of all time. LeBron James is dangerously close to taking Jordan's spot, and even though he has a few more years left in his NBA career, he has achieved a lot and is already considered one of the best players to ever play the game.

LeBron made it clear that he wants to be the greatest, and he recently talked about Jordan, revealing what he'd have to do in order to surpass him.

LeBron wants to be the best

It is not a secret that LeBron James wants to become the greatest. He talked about it many times and it's obvious that becoming the best player in the NBA history is his ultimate goal. Considering he is chasing Jordan and his amazing legacy, James has a tough task. However, it is not impossible for LeBron to achieve this and it will be interesting to see how his career will end.

The Cleveland Cavaliers small forward just entered his 15th NBA season. During his career, he has won three championships and four MVP trophies among other awards and accomplishments.

While it's true that Jordan is still way ahead, it is also true that James would get much closer to him with another championship ring. With a few more years left in his tank, there is no doubt that the four-time MVP can win at all at least one more time.

LeBron recently had an interview with GQ and he was asked how he could move past Jordan in most people's eyes.

"If I was the most consistent and was at the top of the food chain more than anybody in NBA history," James answered. While his answer doesn't reveal much, it is obvious that he wants to keep playing at a high level and be the best for as long as possible.

James' season opener performance

Cleveland Cavaliers opened the regular season with a big game against the Boston Celtics and Kyrie Irving.

The game was interesting and intense, and the Cavaliers came up victorious, winning their first game of the season.

LeBron James was the best player in the game and he was responsible for the fourth-quarter comeback the Cavaliers had. At the end, the forward was one assist shy of a triple-double as he had 29 points, 16 rebounds and 9 assists. He also added a pair of blocks to his stats and made 12 out of 19 shots.
