Oh, it's true, it's damn true. The current on-television WWE "Raw" General Manager has booked himself as part of this coming Sunday's "TLC: Tables, Ladders, & Chairs 2017" pay-per-view. Olympic gold medalist and WWE Hall of Famer Kurt Angle will actually be a part of The Shield, at least for a night. Angle is set to replace Roman Reigns this Sunday and team up with his two stablemates in a handicap match. Here are the latest details on what's set to go down.

What's the deal?

On Friday, the WWE website officially reported that medical issues would force two WWE superstars out of action for Sunday.

One of those superstars was Roman Reigns, while the other was Bray Wyatt. There had been news that some sort of viral illness was hitting several superstars on the roster lately and it seems it got both of these stars.

Due to the illness, it meant WWE needed replacements for Wyatt and Reigns. They announced that AJ Styles would fill in for Bray against Finn Balor, while Kurt Angle will take Reigns' place and team up with Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose.

That trio still has their hands full as they'll take on The Miz, Cesaro, Sheamus, Braun Strowman, and Kane in a 5-on-3 Tables, Ladders & Chairs handicap match. That means that there are no disqualifications in this sort of match and all three of those aforementioned "foreign objects" become legal as these superstars go to war.

Outcome

The fact that Kurt Angle has booked himself in this match is an interesting, well, "angle." He hasn't been in a WWE wrestling match in years, although Kurt participated quite a bit with TNA Impact (now GFW). There had been ongoing rumors that Angle might find his way into a match against Triple H based on some sort of storyline with Jason Jordan.

However, WWE realized they needed to deliver something big for fans with their top star from WWE "Raw" sidelined.

That said, one has to think Angle is going to deliver the big win in this match with the Ankle Lock on someone. It could be The Miz, Kane, or Sheamus and Cesaro, but it's unlikely he'll be making Braun Strowman tap out to his submission move.

Still, it seems like The Shield was destined for the big win at this pay-per-view. Unfortunately, fans won't get to see the trio in their first official reunion just yet. Settling for seeing Kurt Angle make his return to the ring isn't a bad consolation prize whatsoever though!

Who will win this Sunday's "TLC 2017" 5-on-3 handicap match? Will Kurt Angle end up scoring the win for his team?
