This season has been a tough one for Real Madrid, as they started the season in La Liga very poorly. They lost at home to Betis in week 5 of the Spanish La Liga, and before that, they tied with Valencia and Levante. They are seven points behind their biggest rival Barcelona and now they will have to face one of their toughest opponents in the last couple of years-Borussia Dortmund. Real Madrid played at Dortmund six times in the UEFA Champions League and they never managed to win. Last time these two teams played against each other in Dortmund, the score was 2-2, and the time before that, Borussia won 2-0.

In the past, Real Madrid played a lot better against Borussia at home, but playing against them in Germany has been a nightmare for the current European and Spanish champions.

Borussia is on the top of the Bundesliga

Borussia Dortmund has been playing very well this season, as they are on the top of the Bundesliga. They already scored 19 goals in the Bundesliga and are two points ahead of Hoffenheim, who is in the second place. Pierre-Emerich Aubameyang scored eight of Dortmund's 19 goals, which is twice as many as Benzema, Ronaldo, Asensio, Bale, and Modric scored for Real Madrid this season. In the first week of this year's Champions League, Borussia Dortmund was badly defeated by the Tottenham Hotspur.

Cristiano Ronaldo likes playing against German teams

Even though Real Madrid has had a hard time against German teams, Cristiano Ronaldo loves playing against them. He scored 23 times against the Germans in 19 matches, four times against Borussia, and nine times against Bayern. Ronaldo returned to Real Madrid's squad against Betis, but he has been struggling, as he failed to score in two La Liga matches.

In the Champions League, he has been very dominant, as he scored 12 times in the last six matches in Europe's biggest Soccer competition. He scored twice in Real's first match of this year's Champions League against APOEL.

Both teams will be without couple of key players

Both teams will be without some of their most important players on Tuesday.

Marco Reus, Marcel Schmelzer, Raphael Guerreiro and Eric Durm won't be playing for Dortmund against the Spanish team, while Andre Schurrle and Sebastian Rode are questionable for Tuesday's match. Karim Benzema, Mateo Kovacic, Theo Hernandez and Marcelo won't be playing for Real Madrid. All of these players are very important for their teams, and this match won't be the same without them. Real Madrid won the UEFA Champions League two times in the row and they are the favorites to win on Tuesday. They are in a crisis, but they are a completely different team when they play in the Champions League. These two teams have a history of exciting matches and we hope Tuesday's match will not be any different.
