Chelsea had just come off another strong win vs Stoke City but were still not seen as favorites to beat Atletico, after drawing against Arsenal at home. Some players to recognize from the game;

David Luiz was looking to win back the fans after being sent off vs Arsenal but only made things worse, after taking down Lucas Hernandez inside the box to give away a penalty to Atletico Madrid. Besides David Luiz, Chelsea was good defensively, With Courtois providing great saves throughout the game, Cahill and Azpilicueta blocking dangerous shots, and Alonso and Moses being menacing down the wings (Although leaving Chelsea vulnerable for counter attacks).

Hazard was MOTM, wreaking havoc on Atletico's defense, and assisting Morata's goal with a sublime cross.

Kante also had a stellar game, providing good defense, and dribbling that Atletico couldn't handle for most of the game.

Chelsea's next games will not be easy, as they face Manchester City (H), Crystal Palace (A), and Roma (H).

After putting strong performances in La Liga, Atletico Madrid were hoping to continue their winning streak, but were unfortunately disappointed. After Griezmann had the honors of scoring the first ever goal in Wanda Metropolitano, he scored Atletico's first Champions league goal at the new stadium, but they are yet to record a Champions League win.

Their next three games are Leganes (A), Barcelona (H), and Qarabag (A). To revive any hopes of continuing in the CL, they need a win vs Qarabag, a game that will take place October 18.
