On Thursday afternoon, the Baltimore Orioles hosted the new york yankees at Camden Yards. Both Aaron Judge and Chase Headley hit two-run Home Runs in the team's eight-run win. Here is the latest Yankees vs. Orioles game recap including top performers, stats, a standings update, and what's next for these two teams.

MLB game recap

The New York Yankees quickly jumped out to a 3-0 lead in today's game thanks to an Aaron Judge two-run home run in the first inning. The latest blast was Judge's 39th for the season. Chase Headley would add another two-run shot in the fourth inning, while Starlin Castro and Todd Frazier added solo shots in the sixth and seventh innings, respectively.

For the game, Didi Gregorius went 3-for-5 with two runs and an RBI. Headley and Judge each had two RBIs, while Brett Gardner went 2-for-3 with two runs.

It was a rough day for the home team as the Baltimore Orioles managed seven hits but just one run from them. Adam Jones scored the only run for the team as the Yankees won their first series against Baltimore in Camden Yards in four years. New York also paid tribute to the late Gene Michael -- who died of a heart attack on Thursday -- by wearing black arm bands during the game.

Picking up the win for the Yankees' pitching staff was Sonny Gray who moves to 9-9 for the season.

Gray struck out five batters and allowed six hits with just one run all game. He's now 3-4 since the Yankees acquired him during a trade in late July. The Orioles' Kevin Gausman took the loss and is now 10-10. Gausman had four strikeouts but lasted just three innings, giving up five hits and five runs.

With his 39th home run today, Aaron Judge now has the second-most home runs by a player in their rookie season.

The all-time record is currently held by former baseball star Mark McGwire. The former Oakland A's and St. Louis Cardinals star had 49 in his rookie season with Oakland.
