We are now a month away from the start of training camps but despite that, it seems like the NBA offseason still has lots of unanswered questions especially with Irving and Carmelo looking to be traded before camp begins. With the Spurs, Suns, Timberwolves and New York interested in Irving despite the offseason ending there is still a lot of drama left to be expected this month. Here are a few updates on the NBA free agency:

Minnesota makes extension offer to Wiggins

The Minnesota Timberwolves have made the loudest noise in this year's offseason with the acquisition of NBA All-Star forward Jimmy Butler and former All-Star point guard Jeff Teague.

With Karl Anthony Towns and Andrew Wiggins getting better each and every day the Minnesota Timberwolves are likely to compete for the top spot in the Western Conference this upcoming NBA season along with the Spurs, Warriors, and Rockets. With that, the Timberwolves made another move to lock in a young and bright player in Andrew Wiggins, Darren Wolfson of ESPN has reported that the Timberwolves has offered Wiggins a five year 148 million dollar contract. With that, the Timberwolves made another move to lock in a young and bright NBA player in Andrew Wiggins, Darren Wolfson of ESPN has reported that the Timberwolves has offered Wiggins a five year 148 million dollar contract this offseason.

No word yet has gone out from the Wiggins but it seems likely that he will accept the offer. Wiggins last season played his best season yet by averaging 23.6 points, one steal, 2.3 assists and four rebounds while shooting 45.1% from the field and 35.6% from beyond the arc. (Career highs in points, steals, assists, and 3 point percentage) Wiggins was drafted with the 1st overall pick in the 2014 NBA draft by the Cleveland Cavaliers but was traded to Minnesota as part of the Kevin Love trade in 2014.

New Orleans acquires Jalen Jones

The new orleans have been busy this offseason in the hopes of building a team around Demarcus Cousins and Anthony Davis. RealGM staff has reported that the Pelicans have signed Jalen Jones to a two-way contract this offseason. Jones was undrafted in the 2016 NBA draft and has played for the Toronto Raptors in the 2016 summer league, He was also signed by the Boston Celtics last October but was then directly waived by Boston.

Jones is a 24-year-old guard who is ready to make an impression in the NBA league, with this acquisition Jones now has the opportunity to play for an NBA team and show just how deserving he is to be called up in the NBA.
