We had a blasting weekend right from the first whistle till the last; the weekend didn’t come short of upsets, we had lots of goals and shocking results. Let's delve into what happened on Match Day 2 in PL.

Marcos Alonso steals Gameweek 2 gong

Chelsea's encounter with Tottenham Hotspur was one of the games you wished you didn't miss during the weekend. Marcos Alonso stole the show in the 24th minute of the game after he netted in a superb free kick to put Chelsea in front in the first half, but not until, Mitshu Batshuayi found the wrong net in the 82nd minute to put Spurs back in the game.

Alonso, had other plans as he drove in a low shot through a tight angle in the 88th minute to seal the victory for the blues - a goal which drove Chelsea boss, Antonio Conte crazy on the pitch and which ensured that Alonso became EPL defender with the most goals.

Total Cards (35)

The Premier League games for week two had 35 cards shown to players. 31 yellow cards were given out and four red cards were shown.

A total of 22 goals were scored this week. Marcos Alonso (Chelsea) is the only player to find the back of the net twice.
