Derrick Henry rushed in a 17-yard TD before the quarter ended. After Carolina rookie Christian McCaffrey scored on a 17-yard TD run in the second quarter, Henry would add his second touchdown of the game. The Titans' back ran in for the one-yard score in the second quarter, extending the lead to 24-10.

The Carolina Panthers would make things interesting in the third quarter. Cameron Artis-Payne ran for a one-yard touchdown early in the quarter. Towards the end of the third, it was Joe Webb finding Alex Armah for a 20-yard pass for the score. That made it 27-24 Titans as the Panthers would try for the comeback.

In the fourth quarter, neither team would score until there was less than three minutes remaining. Carolina would tie up the game on a 37-yard field goal from Graham Gano, but several minutes later it was a three-yard TD run from David Fluellen that put the Titans ahead for good.
